NEVER GIVE UP

Martina Peterlini, born in Trento on 24 October 1997 and living in Rovereto, has always had a deep connection with snow and the world of alpine skiing. As fate would have it, she was born during the first snowfall of the season, as if to set the course of her life from the very beginning.

At the age of three, she put on skis for the first time and immediately discovered a passion that was destined to become her profession. Having grown up in a family of ski instructors — her grandfather, father and uncle — Martina has been steeped in the values of the mountains, discipline and sacrifice since she was a child.

For her, the snow is not just a sporting environment, but a true home: the cold, the wind on her face and the mountains represent the place where she truly feels like herself. As a child, she spent her Sundays on skis following her father, trying to imitate his every move and constantly perfecting her technique, never settling for less.

Right from the junior ranks, she has shown a determined, competitive and resilient character. She has always viewed every race as a personal challenge, tackling it with passion, ambition and a great spirit of sacrifice.

Throughout her career, training sessions, victories and injuries have helped shape her personality. After every setback, she has always found the strength to get back on her feet, returning to the slopes with even greater determination and self-awareness.

Martina sees sport as a true personal mission: representing herself and Italy on the world stage through the values of commitment, dedication and professionalism is what she loves most.

Her constant quest for improvement accompanies her not only in her competitive career, but also in her university studies and the passions she pursues every day.

Martina Peterlini

Martina Peterlini grew up in a family that provided the ideal environment for her sporting talent to flourish.

Her father, a ski instructor and coach, and her mother, a former track and field athlete, instilled in her a passion for sport and the value of hard work from a very young age. Her grandfather, too, devoted much of his life to teaching skiing, and it was in Folgaria that the Peterlini family’s story on the snow began.

In the years that followed, her father Marco and her uncle Roberto also took their first steps on the slopes of Alpe Cimbra, both going on to become ski instructors and coaches.

Martina began skiing at the age of three on the Fondo Grande ski lift, under her grandfather’s watchful eye. She subsequently joined the Sci Club Città di Rovereto, where she began her competitive career in the youth categories.

Her talent and determination then led her to the Ski Team Altipiani in the ‘Ragazzi’ category, where she was coached by Luca Gheser, a coach who also guided her in the following years at the Ski Team Tezenis, now known as the Falconeri Ski Team.

With the Falconeri Ski Team, she spent her early years in the Youth category, before joining the Trentino Committee team, coached by Mirko Deflorian under the technical guidance of Matteo Guadagnini.

The 2016/2017 season marked a decisive turning point in her career: Martina won the National Special Slalom Circuit, thereby earning a place in the Italian National Team.

In the same season, she joined the Fiamme Oro Sports Group in Moena, a sporting organisation she still proudly represents today.

Since 2018, she has been competing regularly in World Cup events, subsequently achieving significant results in the European Cup and at the Junior World Championships as well.

Alongside her sporting career, Martina has always devoted great attention to her school and university studies. She obtained her school-leaving certificate at the Claudia de’ Medici Institute in Malles Venosta, a school that enabled her to balance her studies with competitive sport, as well as perfecting her knowledge of German and obtaining a diploma in that language.

She subsequently completed her university studies, graduating with a degree in Management and Organisation Sciences from the University of San Raffaele.

Very close to her family, Martina shares her passion for sport with her sister, a former elite skier who is now a physiotherapist.

Throughout her career, she has had to cope with several injuries that have affected her competitive career. However, thanks to her strong resilience and genuine competitive spirit, she has always managed to bounce back and return stronger than before.

A specialist in the Giant Slalom, Martina has three top-10 finishes in the World Cup to her name.

In 2026, she represented Italy at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, finishing 13th in the Giant Slalom.

She currently ranks 23rd in the world rankings for this discipline.
